《低俗小说 Pulp Fiction》(1994) 其剧情放置结构在九十年代也算一种"奇葩"，当然相对于现在来说，已算不得什么了。但在那时也许就像某些人眼中的"另类"，而《低俗小说 Pulp Fiction》在九十年代那时却是影响很大，至少不会像现在一样，"另类"一般被人留下的只是嘲讽与唾弃。正如片名一样，剧中不乏独特的黑色幽默，而原本的血腥场景却被巧妙的掩饰和包装，正如朱尔斯杀人前还跟人家争论哪家的汉堡包好吃，以及一大段《圣经》的背诵，无不对血腥场景的弱化，甚至颇带点喜剧效果。
而我也认同其中透析出的意味，"在现实生活面前，生与死，对与错丝毫没有公正可言。"与"偶发事件对人生命运的改变"。
